Property description

As you drive along the tree lined Molehill Road and across Chestfield Green the attractive this property is laid out before you.

This charming and unique architect designed property nestles in 0.681 acres of garden and woodland. This backs on to farmland, providing a delightfully rural ambience. Yet it is only a short walk to the historic 14th century Chestfield Barn bar and restaurant, the Chestfield Golf Club and is not far from a large Sainsbury’s. Walking into the hall leading to the kitchen and open plan breakfast/family area and through to the conservatory or the elegant lounge, you are immediately aware of the light and spaciousness that permeates throughout this very individual family home. This is emphasised by the set of double doors that open into the lounge with its modern fireplace and veritable wall of windows providing plenty of natural light and another pair of doors opening into the large attractive dining room, where up to a dozen guests will be delighted to sit round the table for a meal. The family is likely to congregate around the breakfast bar in the modern open plan kitchen area with its double oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and adjacent utility room or sit in the conservatory admiring the view across the impressive garden to the woodland beyond. There is a very useful study overlooking Chestfield Green and, as it is just inside the front door, if you do have business visitors they do not need to go through the whole house.

Upstairs there are four good sized bedrooms including three with en suite bath or shower rooms as well as a family bathroom. Outside at the front there is a large, brick paved driveway providing plenty of space for off road parking, as well as the integral double garage. The main garden is a joy for any family with a large terrace for barbecues and al fresco dining, an attractive pond surrounded by a large lawn and a variety of impressive trees and shrubs.

What the Owner says:

The house was built about 13 years ago and the architect employed designed it to a very high specification at the behest of the original owner. I was in the fortunate position of being able to buy it 10 years ago and have loved living here ever since. However it is time to make a move and I hope that another family will enjoy it as much as we have.

It is very peaceful here and the garden is a real draw. I put the pond it about four years ago to encourage pond life and it is now full of frogs and newts, surrounded by wild flowers. The woodland area is a haven for rabbits and squirrels – not to mention youngsters wanting to explore the ‘wild side’ or play games on the lawn – while you can sit and soak up the sun on the terrace.

Chestfield is a very friendly village with not only a very good golf club but also a very active cricket club. Nearby Swalecliffe includes a variety of local shops such as a convenience store, hairdressers, pharmacy and dentist. We are only two miles from the impressive Tankerton Slopes, the seafront and excellent restaurants including JoJos tapis bar and the East Coast dining room. The centre of Whitstable is only three miles away where you can enjoy its famous oysters, fishing harbour, individual shops and restaurants while for anyone who needs to commute to Town there is the mainline station to St Pancras and other London stations.
