The property is the smallest of 22 conservation areas in Portsmouth, comprising purely of Grand Division Row, although not listed it is on the local list of buildings of architectural and historical importance and was designated as the best conversion in 1998, when it was divided vertically to create ten impressive homes. No.6 forms one of the central units with the accommodation spread over three primary floors, however there is a large basement area (albeit restricted in height), the layout was designed taking into account some of the exposed brick archways and stone pillars.
