Property description

This is a home you will love to come home to! As you finish a day’s work and drive away from the motorway or rail station, both of which are so easily accessible, you will drive through the pretty village of Birling with its pretty stone All Saints Church and wooded lanes and then onto your drive as you arrive home. The setting is a 360 degree picture perfect rural scene. See the sheep grazing opposite, hear and watch the visiting pheasants and wildlife that venture into the grounds. It is a beautiful setting which is stunning in the summer and would not be out of place as a postcard picture on a fresh fall of snow. The ‘no through’ road means you are just as likely to hear the sound of horses hooves in the Lane as you are a car from your neighbour.

The home has the enviable blend of a characterful ragstone cottage dating to around 1880, extended and improved for today’s lifestyle. You have a lovely sized lounge that has a fantastic fireplace to warm and add that comforting glow to this great family room. The kitchen area has that farmhouse feel and a breakfast area to go with it. The dining room makes a great entertaining room and working from home is easy made too with a large study.

The grounds offer scope for a small paddock for a pony perhaps or why not practice your golf strokes. A good size outbuilding offers car or hobby/studio space too.

What the Owner says:

This property caught my eye from many years ago, having lived in the area it had made an impression on me from glimpses on leisurely family country walks and on passing it on school cross country runs. My wife has a particular passion for the outdoors and horse riding and when this property came up for sale we simply had to have it!

It had been sadly neglected in the years before we moved in but we loved the character of the home, saw the potential and set to work with many improvements including central heating, double glazed windows and doors and a new kitchen amongst other things. It has been lovely living here, peaceful, quiet and with great neighbours.
