Property description
It is such a rarity, these days, to be able to walk to a restaurant, pick up a paper from the local shop, and also be just a short drive from a main line station. Add this to the fact that this home falls within the Cranbrook School catchment area, and you’ve got a match made in heaven for any expanding, working family!
Over the last 5 years, the current owners have lovingly extended the house, turning into a completely different home.
The new kitchen/breakfast room is chic and stylish, with its solid oak work surfaces, Belfast sink and gorgeous slate flooring. The useful addition of the utility room and cloakroom keeps things practical for a busy life.
What was the kitchen, is now a beautifully spacious dining room, with warm oak flooring, allowing the original lounge/diner to become a huge social space, complimented by the parquet floor.
Every detail of daily life has been considered, from the en-suite shower room in the guest room and the space for double beds in all bedrooms, to the two sunny patios outside, ideal for sun chasers and barbecue hosts.
Throughout the house, the décor remains neutral and serene, making for an easy transition from one home to another – no need to pick up a paintbrush and a pot of magnolia coloured paint on your first day!
What the Owner says:
When we walked through the door, we quickly realised the potential in this home, and the location was fabulous. We could drive a short distance to the station and walk to the shops for a pint of milk, yet still be surrounded by peace and quiet.
5 years on and everything has been transformed. We’ve turned it from a 3 to a 4 bedroom house with an en-suite and added a huge garage, kitchen/breakfast room, utility and cloak room. The grandchildren love playing badminton in the garden, while we sit on the patio and drink in the sunshine. It’s going to be a tug to leave, but family commitments are taking us away from the village. We hope the next family will enjoy our hard work!
