Property description
This magnificent Victorian Villa comes to the market for only the second time in its long 150 year history. Originally built on the old Horsham Common this spacious family home has been much loved and respected over the years and has maintained it’s character and charm. You will find numerous original features almost in very room, beautiful period fireplaces are common place, as are huge sash bay windows in the principle reception and bedrooms.
The stained glass windows to the original front door are just an introduction into what you will find, the spacious entrance hall is the perfect place to welcome your guests, I really admire the staircase, I thinks it’s wonderful. Both the dining and drawing rooms are well proportioned and have been the scene of many a happy evening over the years. The old servant’s pantry now serves as the owners study, whilst the breakfast room enjoys views over the rear garden and divides the day room from the kitchen which is dominated by the large blue Aga Oven. You will also find the old servants back staircase from here, as well as the well-trodden steps down to the owners wine cellar and washing room.
You will be as equally impressed with the first floor accommodation, 5 large bedrooms and 2 bathrooms leading from the large and spacious landing. The owners family have been very lucky to live in such a wonderful property, and the new buyers will be equally so.
What the Owner says:
With 3 growing boys we were keen to find a property that had plenty of space, both inside and out. We also needed good schools nearby and proximity to the train station for my daily commute up to London. So this property in North Parade was ideal, and we have been very happy here for nearly 40 years.
In the past we have spent many a fun evening in our Dining Room entertaining our family and friends but now our favourite room is the Day Room. It is where we spend most of our time, conveniently located next to the breakfast room and kitchen, it is very easy to keep warm during the winter, so it is lovely and cosy and has nice views over the rear garden.
