Property description

You will never believe the fantastic and spacious interior and the quality of the fittings and the facilities available in this delightful house. This Tardis of a family home opens up before you and provides everything needed. It has been designed with leisure and entertainment in mind and, in order to take full advantage of the stunning views, the impressive living area is on the top floor.

Leading off the hall on the ground floor is the trendy family bathroom and five double bedrooms including one with an en suite cloakroom and the large master suite. This has its own bathroom with a Jacuzzi bath and a lovely balcony where you enjoy sitting, taking in the view across the Channel to the twinkling lights of Calais. The bedroom nearest the front door would also make an excellent office as business visitors wouldn’t need to go through the whole house and there are storage areas adjacent to two of the other bedrooms that could be made into en suite bathrooms if required.

Your friends and family will want to spend many happy hours on the lower ground floor. This consists of a magnificent indoor swimming pool complex with a heated pool and a sauna as well as changing rooms, shower and toilet and a large gym that could also be used as a games room. From the pool room you can wander out onto the terrace and enjoy a barbecue, although much of your al fresco entertaining will inevitably take place on the vast sun terrace above the swimming pool complex and accessed via steps down from the main living room upstairs. There are also double gates from the garden that provide access to a short cut to the beach.

The first floor living area needs seeing to be believed. The galleried landing is large enough to be used as a seating area while you could have a party in the main sitting area with its adjacent conservatory. There are more ‘wow factors’ on this floor wherever you look. Whether it is the open plan design and unique central brick fireplace with openings on all sides providing heat to the sitting area and attractive dining area as well as to the landing or the magnificent views from the windows and the balcony.

What the Owner says:

When we bought this house it had been empty for sometime and needed upgrading. However we loved the position and the views and since we moved here we have thoroughly enjoyed refurbishing the property and adding some extras such as solar panels to keep energy bills to the minimum. It has been a great place for our girls as they and their friends can spend all day in the swimming pool area and also safely walk to the beach or along the road beyond our house to the South Foreland Lighthouse – the first lighthouse in the world to have electric light. You can even stroll over to the old train tracks where large WWII guns ‘Winnie’ and ‘Pooh’ used to run up and down, ready to do damage to the enemy. In fact you will find plenty of wonderful walks along footpaths and trails to Kingsdown and the beach at St Margaret’s Bay where you can stop at the Coastguard pub.
We have enjoyed the friendly and community spirited village. There are a number of restaurants, a hotel and pubs as well as a post office and village shop. There are a wide range of societies and clubs including bowls, tennis, cricket, football as well as a history and horticultural society, among many others. For the younger members of the community there are also active scout, guide and brownie troops as well as a two riding stables for equestrian enthusiasts. We are not far from Dover and Folkestone for access to the Continent, Martin Mill or Dover for the mainline station and the lovely town of Deal with its seafront.
