Property description
You often hear the phrase “in the middle of nowhere” but at this quite remarkable stone cottage, it could not be truer. Nestled on the outskirts of Whitwell you will need to leave the sports hatch on the road and take the 4X4 down the track to discover a little piece of countryside you can call your own. Avoid the sheep on the way through the field and look to the horizon where a cluster of farm cottages await you. Pull up at the gate and wonder through the meadow garden up to the front door and admire the beauty of this grade II listed stone building. Once inside, discover plenty of good sized accommodation and start planning where to put everything. With two great reception rooms and four bedrooms, it is easy to see why even the biggest of families could live here. Sit around the range cooker in the kitchen or cosy up in front of the numerous open fires and get planning your next adventure. Whether it be a leisurely walk through the fields with the dog or a more exciting mountain bike ride to the top of Stenbury Down, you really are spoilt for choice with everything right on your doorstep. Should you find the house not quite big enough, why not utilise the timber garden building as extra space for the children to let off steam. Relax in the large gardens and listen to the sheep munch their way across the adjoining fields, there really isn’t anything else to hear other than the birds in full summer song. Prepare to be amazed when you visit this wonderful home, we are sure you will not be disappointed!
What the Owner says:
We have thoroughly enjoyed our time in the cottage and could never have dreamt of living in such a beautiful location, so when we saw the property and the potential it offered, we had to buy it. Over the years we have added an extension to the back to give us a fabulous family kitchen/breakfast room and a utility room, which really does give you a great space to sit down and enjoy a meal. The garden incorporates a large workshop which could also provide additional accommodation if needs be. Although our circumstances have now changed and there are a few jobs we haven’t quite managed to finish off, we really hope any new owners will love the property and its location as much as we have.
