Property description
If you take a short walk down one of the many pretty back streets of Ventnor you’ll be amazed at some of the incredible architecture the town has to offer. Tucked away behind the high street this unique character property is a real hidden gem. Reputed to once have been part of an adjacent coaching inn and possibly the former stables or hay barn, this cottage’s heritage is certainly part of its charm and character. As you step inside the delightful farm house kitchen here you will find plenty of space to sit and enjoy catching up with friends and family before retiring to relax in the lounge area. These two areas were formally bedrooms and with a bathroom on the ground floor it might be that you decide you want to change things around depending on your circumstances. Upstairs the entire first floor is now one large bright open space with patio doors leading to a Juliet balcony letting sunlight stream through. . With a bit of imagination this area could be transformed into an amazing space but let’s not forget this property has a secret outside space. Ascend the wooden steps and climb through the roof window to enjoy your very own roof top oasis, from there you can admire views over the town and relax with a glass of your favourite wine and a good book whilst soaking up the glorious Ventnor sunshine. This unique character cottage really is a little bit special and with the right imagination could become your very own dream home.
What the Owner says:
I was instantly attracted to the character this property offers. It has proved to be so convenient for the shops which are just around the corner. I have made some changes to the layout inside which originally had 2 bedrooms downstairs and an open plan lounge and kitchen area upstairs. I decided to create a large open space for playing my musical instruments and so the upstairs is now one entire area and so downstairs I have installed a kitchen and have my lounge. You could always put it back to how it was or conjure up your own ideas on how you want to live, but for me it works fine. I was able to create a parking area to the side which is perfect for my small car and the roof top terrace is the best place in town to soak up the sun in the summer.
