Property description

It’s not often you walk into a house that will completely fill you with the wow factor, but this house will. The current owner has gone to great lengths to lovingly restore this Grade II listed building, providing you with modern day comforts but packed full of original features that have been restored by skilled craftsman to the highest specification. There are two entrances to the house, one is via a oak porch leading into the lounge area and the other is into the kitchen. The lounge has an inglenook fire place with log burner and beautiful exposed beams and brick work. The kitchen was converted from a former utility and shower room, where the owner has created a wonderful feeling of space and light. The staircase has been lovingly restored in Elm wood and leads to a multi purpose landing that could easily be used as a study area. The bedroom is full of character and has a double height beam ceiling and built in cupboard. The bathroom is of the highest quality and comes complete with standalone bath. A new oak frame garden room has been built to the side of the house and complements the original building. It provides the perfect place for guests to stay or a sanctuary for you. The garden is well stocked with a pergola and well established vine and brick paving. There is also a shed and a handy storage area at the side of the oak framed garden room. The house has parking at the front and you are a short stroll from the station. All in all it's the perfect retreat and must be seen.

What the Owner says:

Since I moved into this property 6 years ago I have worked hard to restore her to her former glory and beyond! It has been a pleasure to watch master craftsman lovingly restore the fabric of the building, using traditional methods and materials.
The old characteristics of the cottage have been complemented by an additional oak framed garden room which is bright and airy and over looks the garden.
It's a short stroll to the station through the allotments and it's great to walk home and see this property nestling at the foot of Box Hill. It will be a wrench to leave, I will miss the cottage and the cycle rides through Surrey Hills but the new owners will enjoy being the latest custodians in the long line who have looked after this architecturally significant house over the centuries.
