Property description

A detached four bedroom family home tucked away in a secluded position and situated in the village of Neston to the east of Bath. Comprising three reception rooms, kitchen/breakfast room, utility room, downstairs W.C, three bath / shower rooms, gardens, gravelled driveway and double garage.“After finding the perfect location, we invested in a building plot, so that our dream home could be completely built from scratch,” says Lea. “The house took 11 months to finish, but it was important that it fulfilled our growing family requirements precisely.” "We designed the house with open living areas, a large kitchen/diner and good sized bathrooms to fit the needs of not only our young family, but also the adults they would become," adds Peter.“The house is situated on a private driveway, away from the road, making it especially safe and secluded. It is a very large and spacious family home, combining the best of the old and the new. As well as incorporating a thoroughly modern specification, we made sure we included warmth and character, by using oak, natural stone walls, and clay tiles.” “Foxstone House has a welcoming open feel. The individual rooms are visible through partly glazed doors providing a flow of natural light and also peace and quiet, as well as ample space to entertain in,” explains Peter. “There are four bedrooms, all of which are a good size,” he adds. “My favourite room is the kitchen as it has a big family and dining area,” continues Lea. “It has become the heart of the home and we spend a lot of time here. When the children were growing up, we used the room for everything, from family dinners to homework hub. I also love the fact that you can look out of the kitchen window into the garden which is great if you have children as you can watch them playing outside while you do the cooking.”Peter adds “The garden area is planted for all-season colour and interest: with fruit trees, raised vegetable beds, a greenhouse and established hedging, but benefits from being easy to maintain. The plot is approximately a third of an acre, with the house in the middle, so the grounds wrap all the way around. The generous size of the house and garden makes it brilliant for entertaining - over the years we have had many family barbeques and parties.”“The house is situated in a superb area. It is just under two miles to historic Corsham, where there are many boutique shops and farmers’ markets,” explains Lea. “The local community is also great as there are many clubs, ranging from pony riding along our small village roads, to soccer at Leafy Lane or WI at the Memorial Hall. On a less strenuous note, the local village pub is lovely to visit in the evenings. The area offers many short strolls or long walks. We love taking the dog out on countryside walks with the family without having to take the car.”“Transport links are also good,” continues Peter. “Chippenham station is six and a half miles away and from here you can commute to London easily or catch the National Express from Corsham right into Heathrow. Electrification will bring the travelling times down further and super-fast broadband means you don't always have to go to the office! We usually drive the short distance to Bath for larger shops and facilities, as well as a wide choice of restaurants, high street stores and top performing schools.”“We will really miss the beautiful location when we leave. The house is perfectly located for all the benefits of rural living, yet just under ten and a half miles from the centre of Bath,” conclude Lea and Peter.
