About Harlow One
There are two convenient shopping areas within around six hundred yards of Harlow One. The first, on Otley Road, has a Co-op food shop, a newsagent and convenience store, hairdressers, a gourmet cafe and a Chinese takeaway. The wider selection in Cold Bath Road includes a greengrocer, baker, ironmonger, pharmacist, post office, off licence and a Sainsbury’s Local, as well as speciality shops such as an antiques dealer, a toyshop and a children’s shoe shop. The high street names and local traders of Central Harrogate are only around fifteen minutes walk away.
Trains from Harrogate station run every half an hour to Leeds, with journeys taking around 40 minutes. There is also one daily direct service into London Kings Cross, just over three hours away. Bus services to and from the town centre pass along nearby Otley Road, and Leeds Bradford International Airport is around ten miles away.
Local bars include the Harlow Inn and Charlie’s Place, a 60s rock-themed bar with live music at the weekends, while the town centre offers a huge choice of live music venues, bars, clubs and restaurants. Harrogate Theatres have three auditorium spaces presenting shows ranging from serious drama to music and comedy, and there is an Odeon multiplex cinema in the town.
Almost adjacent to Harlow One, the 96-acre Pinewoods is a richly varied area of woodland offering endless opportunities for walking and exploring the diverse natural habitats, and Valley Gardens, a popular park that combines formal gardens with a children’s playground, skate park, paddling pool and a games pavilion, is around half a mile away. There is a swimming pool at the Hydro, set in attractive grounds just a mile and a half from the development, which incorporates a fully equipped Brimhams technogym as well as competition, diving and teaching pools.
Primary schools within easy reach of Harlow One include Western Primary School and Rosset Acre Primary. Harrogate Grammar School, a respected independent academy with specialist status in language and technology, is just over half a mile away. The choice of health centres within walking distance includes Dr Moss and Partners and the Leeds Road Practice, there are several convenient dental surgeries including the North Park Practice.
Harrogate Household Waste Recycling Centre, around two and a half miles away in Wetherby Road, takes building waste, white goods, electronic items and furniture.
