Property description
Set in generous landscaped gardens, this handsome property offers a unique opportunity to enjoy an unrivalled lifestyle at the foot of the glorious South Downs.
Accessed along a winding, private driveway set well back from a rural lane, the property offers a good degree of peace and seclusion within the mature grounds of a large country estate.
The thick stone walls, mullioned windows and expanse of oak set the scene for what is to be found inside - 3500 square feet of accommodation set over two floors, plus a basement. This property provides superb space for entertaining family and friends.
The rooms are all very well proportioned, with the grand drawing room boasting a beautiful French walnut hand-turned staircase and opening onto a lovely sitting room ideal for pre-dinner drinks and a fabulous garden room complete with indoor vine.
All four bedrooms are doubles, the fourth currently used as a dressing room and there are three bathrooms.
An ideal 'lock up and leave' type home, the property is well placed for easy access to London, Gatwick and beyond whilst a wide range of independent and specialist shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants are only a mile way in the village of Storrington.
What the Owner says:
We moved here from Hove about thirty five years ago and believe we are only the fourth family to have lived in this property since it was built in the 1880's.
As part of an imposing country house, our home was formed in 1979 and we were fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with the architect to create a wonderful family-friendly residence, making the most of the stunning views to the rear and the wealth of period features throughout.
It has always been a very happy home for us, like living in a country park with a breathtaking location and super neighbours.
