North Holmwood which is 0.5 miles to the north has a hairdresser and village store with post office. More comprehensive facilities can be found in Dorking town which is 2.5 miles to the north, together with the Dorking Halls Theatre with it's combined leisure complex. Beare Green also has a railway station some 2 miles distant, which provides London bound services via Dorking.
