Further down the dale are the market towns of Bedale, Masham. Further to the east the county town of Northallerton is well serviced and benefits from an East Coast mainline station that provides a fast service to London Kings Cross and Edinburgh. The A1M is a 30 minute drive to the east and connects to the commercial centres of the North East.
