We also liked the fact there was a large communal garden, consisting of mature trees and plants, a garage and parking.We have lived at the apartment for nearly two years and during that time we have carefully raised everything up to an immaculate standard, explains Jonathan. This included redecoration in all of the rooms, new acoustic oak floors, new bathroom, and a new kitchen, continues Jonathan. The apartment provides spacious accommodation, all arranged conveniently on one level and we have retained its period features from the Victorian era, especially the high, ornately corniced ceilings which are stunning.The apartment is wonderful for entertaining purposes. The kitchen and dining area is fantastic for having people over for dinner parties as it is very light and spacious because of the high ceilings, says German. We have had many friends and family over and everyone always comments on this aspect. It is the heart of the house! There are lovely views over the gardens from here, as well as from the huge bay window in the living room and from the bedrooms.We are really going to miss the location when we leave. We are lucky to be situated off Lansdown Road which is a particularly sought after place to live, says German. The area is perfect as it is only just over a mile from Bath city centre. Here there are a large variety of shops and amenities, as well as many fine restaurants, pubs and cafes. We love walking with family and friends into the town in the evenings as it is such a beautiful city, continues German. Although Bath is situated in glorious countryside with so many beautiful places to see so close it is also easily accessible via the M4 motorway, junction 18. There are good transport links as well with Bath rail station close by and Bristol International airport just a short distance away in the car.Bath also has many highly reputable primary and secondary schools including St Stephens, Kingswood and The Royal High School, explains Jonathan. The University of Bath is also in the city centre and was awarded Best Campus University 2014 by The Times, continues Jonathan. For those that enjoy the outdoors and like to be active, there are many recreational activities in the Lansdown area, including the Tennis Club, Golf Club and Bath Racecourse.We are really going to miss Allenby House, both because of the building itself and because of the wonderful area. It would be perfect for anyone looking to relocate to a stunning and busy city, with good access to transport links, but in a leafy and relaxing area. We are sure the next owners will be extremely happy here, conclude German and Jonathan.
