Property description
This beautiful Grade II listed cottage is full of all the character you would hope for when looking for a period home. A real ‘one off’, this is a truly unique property which is bound to catch your interest and it draws you in as you step off the street through the quirky solid wooden door. Being listed and found within the conservation area of Ospringe, fans of this style of property will appreciate the original paned glass windows, especially those of the attractive bay window. The cosy lounge is perfect for a winter’s evening – with the roaring fire from the wood burner being a definite focus of the house.
The kitchen/diner is then the ideal place to gathering with friends over a coffee. You will find plenty of space for a large dining table for when family visit for dinner and the kitchen is a great size to allow you to really get to grips with your culinary skills. The character does continue here too though, with the farmhouse style and butler sink fitting perfectly in what is after all a country style cottage.
The rear garden will be just the thing for the green fingered so start planning ahead for the Spring. Whilst lending itself well to the obvious shrubs and borders featured in the best mature style gardens there is no doubt that you could expand the uses further and start work on your own vegetable patch ready for a 2015 harvest. The views to the rear of the fields complete with horses will keep you entertained whilst you get on with your summer projects.
What the Owner says:
When I bought this house it really was meant to be my ‘forever home’. However, circumstances have changed and I am now leaving the area to be closer to my family. I will miss my cottage and am very proud of the improvements I have made over the time I have been here.
The best money I have spent here is without a doubt the new gas central heating system which I installed in 2013. Improving the secondary glazing has also been a great way to keep the character but also keep in the warmth! The electrics were also improved at a similar time. One of the great things here is the space, especially upstairs where both bedrooms are good doubles and the new bathroom is also one of my favourite features.
