Property description
Believed to have been built by a former school master in the 1930's, this spacious, extended family home enjoys a lovely position in the much sought after Norman Road. It does need some updating but offers great potential for a superb family home.
A driveway and pretty garden will greet you at the end of a long day and inside the generous layout offers a lot for a family. The lounge is light and airy with a charming bay window, certainly a lovely place to unwind and catch up with your favourite TV programme. Your serenity can be enjoyed as there is so much space for everybody else in other rooms! The family room opens up onto a nice dining area which offers ample room for a large family dinner party. Adjoining the dining area at the end is a conservatory which enjoys a view over the gardens, perhaps the spot for your guests to enjoy pre-dinner drinks?
Unusual for a 1930's built house is a cellar. Clearly added for a deliberate function and certainly large enough for conversion but it makes a great wine store! Gardens extend on three sides and offer plenty for children to enjoy.
A property so rare to the market and in such an enviable and convenient location that you really do not need a car. The station for commuters and historical Market Place are only a stroll away as are several popular schools, swimming pool, cinema and much more. Do not miss this one ……..
What the Owner says:
A property with only two previous owners has to be rare in a house around 80 years old!
Since we moved here in the 1960's our family has grown and long since flown the nest and we all loved every minute of living here.
When the children were younger, it was ideal with everything they need and wanted pretty much all within a short walk away.
I love the garden, nicely secluded and a real sun trap too. My husband always enjoyed tending to our vegetable garden which being quite secluded has always been a nice spot for growing.
Being sad to leave here is an understatement but I look forward to being nearer my daughter and grandchildren.
