Barley and cereal would have been dried in the house to produce the Malt for Ales to supply the needs of the local Publicans and Estates. The Malt was not only supplied to the inns in the village but taken by horse and cart along the old Drover tracks and carriageways which are still in existence behind the house today. They wind their way around the fields up to Mynydd Y Grug and onwards to the Northern and Western valleys. The location is a walkers dream which starts right outside the door.
