Property description

This unique Grade II listed cottage built in the early 1700's is situated in Adversane which is just on the outskirts of the village of Billingshurst with its wide range of amenities including restaurants, a supermarket and lots more. It is offered to the market for the first time since the early 60's.

This cottage, originally formed part of the Adversane Malthouse and in its years since then has been a very loved and cared for home and also a general store/post office. The current owner was actually the postmistress for a number of years when she lived next door at number 2.

On the ground floor are two rooms which have been used recently as a lounge and separate dining area. A hatch can be found in the floor which provides access to a small cellar. Also, you will find the kitchen area, a toilet and a porch which is plumbed to allow a washing machine.

The first floor has two bedrooms and a large shower room with disabled access.

Plenty of off road parking can be found in front of the timber garage/workshop, which is next to the commercial sized timber and glass greenhouse. When the cottage was a general store, this is where the majority of the produce were grown.

Call us as soon as possible so you don't miss out on viewing this gem of a property.

What the Owner says:

The cottage will be truly missed. Mum kept it in such good order and lots of things have been done whilst she has been in residence. The roof was also re-done and her and dad have even had it extended. The kitchen and the front and rear porches have been added since the 80's.

It is the only cottage that has proper off road parking. The neighbours have access up and down the driveway, but the parking has still been worth it's weight in gold.
