Property description

Apartment HS07

A stunning 2 bed, first floor apartment set in the new Hackney Square development.

Hackney Square

A superb collection of one, two and three bedroom apartments located around a central courtyard in one of the capital's most bohemian and vibrant cultural centres - Hackney. Apartments that are as stylish and exciting as they are well-connected.

Location

There’s a real excitement about Mare Street. By day, it’s a fascinating shopping destination, combining the essential with the original and sometimes inspirational. There’s a Marks & Spencer and Sainsbury's Local on the street and a 24 hour Tesco superstore just off Mare Street in Morning Lane for your everyday needs, but it’s the new wave of boutiques, décor specialists, galleries, pop ups and quirky accessory shops that really bring the street to life.

By day a haven of café culture, by night Mare Street is the perfect place to wine and dine. Try Rita’s for a menu that includes everything from buttermilk-fried chicken to mushroom toban and miso-grilled aubergine. Equally tempting eateries on the street include Hackney Bureau, The Advisory and Bouchon Fourchette. Don’t miss the award-winning Tad Ocakbasi Meze Bar for an authentic taste of Turkey or Café Coco for oriental fusion with a decidedly Vietnamese style.

You’ll be spoiled for choice for bars and pubs in Mare Street and surrounding roads. You’ll find everything from traditional East End watering holes to destination gastropubs. The Cock Tavern is renowned for its craft beers and craft pies, while down towards London Fields The Cat & Mutton is a local legend. If you feel like staying out partying into the early hours, try new hot spot Oslo by Hackney Central station. It combines a bar, restaurant and live music space.

London Fields - 8 mins away

On a sunny day, London Fields provides the perfect escape from urban strut and street life. A Green Flag award-winning park, here you’ll find over thirty acres of wide open green spaces, tree-lined paths, flower meadows, cycle paths and tennis courts.

It’s ridiculously trendy of course and all the better for it. Whether you want to disappear into a good book, throw a frisbee or just hide behind your shades and watch the fashionistas pass by, feel free. Dining out here is almost de rigueur, so be sure to pack a picnic. Alternatively, you can raid the mouth-watering food stalls at Broadway Market, have your own bbq at the triangle or pick a park-side café and just cappuccino the afternoon away.

Transport

London Fields Station

London Fields station is less than a ten minute walk from Hackney Square. Served by Greater Anglia, it provides a fast, direct route straight into Liverpool Street in under ten minutes. Liverpool Street is a major transport hub, and from here it’s easy to get deeper into central London via the Central, Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan underground lines.

Hackney Central Station

Hackney Central (Zone 2) is part of the London Overground network. Just 12 minutes’ walk from Hackney Square it provides a fast regular service into Stratford in as little as ten minutes. Another major transport hub, Stratford offers ongoing connections to the DLR as well as the Jubilee and Central underground lines. Stratford International is just a short distance to the north from which you can catch a high speed commuter service with Hitachi bullet trains to destinations in East London and Kent, as well as to the St. Pancras Eurostar terminal.

Crossrail 2

There are proposals to include Hackney Central as part of the new Crossrail 2 development – or the ‘Chelsea-Hackney’ line as it’s becoming known. Although still on the drawing board at present, it would add an amazing new dimension to Hackney’s already excellent transport connections and provide superb access into the heart of Central London in particular.

London Bus Routes

The whole of Hackney is extremely well served by London’s bus network. Just three minutes from home, Mare Street is the ideal place to catch a local service. The 56 offers an ideal City service, while the 242 combines the City with destinations further west including Holborn and Tottenham Court Road. The 277 provides the best service for Docklands and Canary Wharf. Route 30 is perfect for heading west, stopping at Kings Cross, Euston, Great Portland Street and Baker Street, while the 38 cuts through the heart of Central London through Haymarket, Piccadilly Circus, Green Park and Victoria.

Night Bus

If you’d like to take full advantage of the nightlife in the heart of the West End, the N38 will carry you home safely all the way from Victoria through the West End and The City. Through the week services run throughout the night every 10–12 minutes, while at weekends they are even more frequent, running every 5–6 minutes and taking approximately 30 minutes.
