Pantyquesta House is set in picturesque countryside on the fringes of the Vale of Glamorgan within close proximity of the capital city and the M4. The location is rural but very accessible to the city centre, the retail centre at Talbot Green and the historic market town of Cowbridge. The M4 (J34) is approximately two miles from the property. There are excellent pubs and restaurants in the Vale of Glamorgan; two nearby hotels, the Miskin Manor and Vale Hotel Resort both have excellent dining and leisure facilities. The latter is also a golf and health spa resort. Llanerch Vineyard and the Miskin Arms Public House are both within walking distance. A comprehensive network of footpaths is on the doorstep. Cardiff City Centre has all the expected shops and facilities of a capital city. There is a BR main line station offering fast and frequent services to London in under two hours. A park and ride station nearby at Pontyclun provides frequent services into Cardiff in about 15 minutes. The historic market town of Cowbridge offers designer shopping and a wide choice of restaurants in a most attractive setting. Both English and Welsh language schools are available locally. Howells and the Cathedral School are within a short drive. The Property Pantyquesta House is Listed for architectural interest as a small late Victorian country house retaining original character and details and with a fine Art-Nouveau veranda. The property is situated in its own superbly landscaped gardens and grounds of about 4.46 acres (1.80 ha). Approached from a quiet country lane, a discrete entrance leads into a sweeping private drive with fine mature specimen trees providing considerable privacy. The property cannot be seen from the highway. The house was built by Colonel H Watson in c1891. During the 1920s it was owned by Stuart Martin who is said to have altered the service range and may also have been responsible for adding the veranda to the garden front. The current owners have lived at the property for 58 years. The Tudor-style country house has two storeys and a large attic. It is built of coursed rock-faced stone under a slate roof with mullioned windows which have leaded lights and sashes, some of which have been replaced. The stone gable-fronted elevation facing the drive is very impressive with the entrance under a shallow segmental arch with ornate gargoyles. A semi-circular paved skirt leads from the drive up to an enclosed porch with the original architraves, leading to the broad original front door with stained and leaded glass to central panels with gothic arched heads.
