Property description

This home just screams character! With beautifully kept original windows on the ground floor which let the light just flood into the house, the stripped doors and wooden floorboards also hint to eras bygone! Even the quirky lightwell in the hallway adds a focal point to the home and was very forward thinking for a house built in this period.

The extension in which the kitchen is situated and the ‘loft’ bedrooms on the top floor are also original and therefore create more space with existing character and charm for any new buyer to enjoy.

Situated in Preston Village, on a quiet, lesser known road where there isn’t a huge amount of passing traffic yet the London Road is seconds away. The proximity to the London Road also makes a commute by car incredibly easy. There are regular bus routes heading into Brighton Town Centre or out towards The Downs which means strolls by the sea are just as easy as strolls in the green pastures! There are plenty of amenities nearby so that your kitchen cupboards are always well stocked for any impromptu visitors wanting a last minute day trip in "Sunny Brighton"!

Preston Park Station is around the corner so commuting to Gatwick Airport or London could be done with ease. For growing families, local schooling such as Balfour, Dorothy Stringer and Varndean are walkable and the biggest park in Brighton is just over the road!

What the Owner says:

We have been living in this house for the past 30 years and raised our three boys here. They used to love playing cricket in the back garden and the sheer size of the house made family living ideal.

The property was built in 1896. When we bought it, it was arranged as two separate flats and we have lovingly restored it to its former glory!

We plan to downsize as there is so much space that we just don’t need any longer. We love the area so hope to stay nearby.
