Property description
A most luxurious property awaits! Tucked away off the main road and surrounded by greenery, you are immediately drawn towards this great property. It’s one of a lucky few that share a sweeping driveway - providing privacy and off street parking. There are gorgeous period features inside and enviably spacious interiors throughout. The stunning rooms at the front of the house are not to be missed along with the well-kept 110ft garden that’s perfect for entertaining your guests or letting the children run riot in the summer.
Hidden from the main road, you walk through a driveway that instantly transports you to the striking houses of Raleigh Gardens. Parking is available immediately outside the property. It's noticeably grand in nature from the exterior and as you step inside your expectations are most definitely met! The hallway has the classic black and white mosaic tiling you would expect from a house of this calibre. Stained glass windows sit above the door and on the side window and compliment the ornate cornicing. The staircase sits in front of you with access to the cellar underneath them. Turning left into the first reception/dining room and the space is never ending. White wooden flooring reflects the copious amounts of light that enter through three front aspect windows. Fitted shelving lies to the left of the feature fireplace. An arched space breaks the room and follows round to the second reception room. Here you’ll find another feature fireplace, carpeted floors, picture rails and double doors onto the garden. Another arched space draws you towards to the kitchen. It’s a great size and is filled endless surprises – there are wooden worktops, a separate loo, central island, two cookers (yes, two!) and access to a conservatory for family dining. After dinner, head out to the garden which is very well kept with a selection of fantastic shrubbery and a paved area to relax and enjoy your surroundings.
Back into the property and head up to the first floor. Towards the front of the property you’ll find a truly enormous master bedroom with proportions to rival a one bedroom flat! Four large front aspect sash windows take centre stage, along with wooden floors and plenty of potential for storage options. The bedroom neighbouring has more of the same large space with a lovely rear view. Out through the hallway and the next room is a shower room that’s neatly tucked away along with a bathroom next door. In here you’ll spy a tiled floor and feature wall, white suite and a side aspect window. The last bedroom on this floor follows suit with its expansive space and wooden floors. Up another floor and the front of the property gives you yet another large bedroom. Three Velux windows allows plenty of light to be let in with help from more of the large front aspect windows. There is a small counter top that has a sink, wooden floors, feature fireplace and a small mezzanine level that overlooks the entirety of the room – great for teenagers or lodgers! The adjacent bedroom dishes up more large space and under eaves storage. Out again to the landing and onto the bathroom. Tiled flooring, white suite, a side aspect casement window and recessed lighting finish the room off nicely. Last but not least is the final bedroom. A small feature fireplace sits central to the room with integrated shelving and enough space for a double bed with room to spare.
You just can't lose with this location. Although quiet, mature and residential it leaves you within a stone’s throw of Clapham, Abbeville Village and Brixton. Clapham High Street will keep you busy whatever the weather - it'll take you the first three years to sample all their cuisine (Carmen tapas is our fave!), also Khamsa is within a few minutes away for some fab Algerian cooking (it's getting great reviews) and you can walk it off on Clapham Common. In the other direction, Brixton's all a buzz with the newly developed Windrush Square offering a marvellous place to sit, chat and drink coffee. This is before we mention the ocean of funky bars, cafes and restaurants on offer - we love 'The Hive' for luscious lunchtime treats and 'Yamamouri' for some noodles and vino. The Ritzy cinema will keep any audience happy with its thoughtful mix of art house and mainstream titles and 'The White Horse' really rocks out on the weekend - check out their chicken, bacon, avocado and camembert burger!
