Property description
As you enter the driveway and catch your first look at this imposing Victorian home, you could be forgiven for thinking that you had travelled back in time to the days of servants, parlour games and singing round the open fire.
This property certainly has enough period features to establish links to the past, while offering incredible potential and flexible living space which many modern homes simply cannot.
The grand fireplaces and high ceilings provide a sense of grandeur and the dumb-waiter and cold store rooms remind us of the original purpose of this extensive list of rooms.
The majority of the current home was an addition to the main house in the 1880s to provide four-storey living accommodation for the servants of the house.
Nowadays, this fantastic property offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside and a secluded feel that one can only ever truly achieve in the country. As you stroll through the garden to your own private orchard, you may well forget that there is anybody else around for miles and miles.
This beautiful and historic home really does need to be seen to be fully appreciated.
What the Owner says:
Having so much space inside and out was really useful as my family grew and matured. This allowed my sons their own privacy in the house and the outdoor space to pursue hobbies which a typical garden couldn't offer.
I have always had a passion for history and it was this which made me fall in love with it. I even have a book about the house containing photos taken in Victorian times in its rooms. I hope the new owners will appreciate its significance.
I will be very sad to leave this property but it is time for somebody new to enter the story and I truly hope that they enjoy their time here as much as I did.
