Located on a quiet, no through road in the Minet conservation area, two minutes from the lovely Myatt’s Fields, is this enormous Victorian house over three floors, built circa 1880. With a grand central staircase, tessellated hallway floor, five double bedrooms (three under the eaves) and working fireplaces in every reception and bedroom, this is a generous family house with plenty of Victorian character.

The front door is stunning, with twelve stained glass panels in the top half, and the original tiles on the hall floor are equally impressive. Even with a fireplace, shower, roll-top bath and w.c. there’s space to spare. Completing this floor is a second bathroom with pretty etched glass panels in the sash, bath, bidet, basin and w.c.. Bedroom three, up on the next half landing, has a window between the eaves. Just a few more steps to bedrooms four and five, both quiet rooms under the eaves with dormer sash windows and narrow Victorian fireplaces. Finally, past a cupboard on the landing, there’s a box room with the tiniest window – the roof slopes sharply here but this is still a fantastically useful storage space.

From here you have a simple, fast commute to the City. Walk 20 minutes to the Oval (Northern line) and tube it or jump on the 40, the 35 or the 42 straight into the City (about 25 minutes in all). Alternatively, Loughborough Junction station is a ten minute walk for super quick services to Blackfriars and Kings Cross. The entertainment and social attractions of Brixton, Kennington and Camberwell are all close by and there are local shops within 100 yards of your front door. If the weather's good you're within a two minute stroll of the very lovely Victorian Myatt's Field which has been sympathetically remodelled in recent years to include a kids play area and café.
