We fell in love with this property the moment we met the previous owners, an elderly couple both teachers who had been here since 1935. She ran a school in the house during the war and had kept a resident maid who slept in the attic at a wage of 7/6, (35p) per week. The house’s calm, spaciousness and family atmosphere struck us immediately. That was 1977 and we were a young couple with two small children. Today, many improvements and modernisations later, we often welcome our four grandchildren here as the generations and patterns repeat themselves.

It is time to move on and we look forward to handing it over to someone who will be as happy here as we have been.
