In more detail ...
This is possibly the most impressive and unique semi-detached property of its kind in Exmouth. It offers the most amazing and beautiful panoramic views. The stunning rear garden stretches out towards a kitchen garden packed with vegetables and fruit and there is also a small orchard. This wonderful spacious home which dates from 1903 is an absolute joy to behold. It has been refurbished by the current owners, who have lived here for the past 8 years, to an exceptionally high standard whilst maintaining the integrity of the building. Original features such as high corniced ceilings, doors and fireplaces are in abundance and sit comfortably alongside modern features. The property is approached via a block pavioured drive where the double glazed front door opens into the entrance vestibule. You instantly get a sense of the welcoming warmth, style and character the house offers. The stunning double aspect bay fronted and generously proportioned sitting room is given a focal point with an attractive fireplace inset with a working wood burner. A further large reception room also has an original fireplace and views of the rear garden. This room which is currently used as a study would also be an ideal space for a dining room or family room. The kitchen is fitted with a range of wall and base units with cream shaker style door fronts and includes an integrated Hotpoint 4 ring gas hob with extractor above and a Hotpoint electric oven. An open arch leads to the dining room. This is a dual aspect room with 2 double glazed picture windows via which you can enjoy the stunning views across the rear garden to the marina, estuary and Haldon Hills. Upstairs on the first floor the current vendors use the dual aspect 3rd bedroom as a lounge where you can also enjoy the spectacular scenery and unrivalled panoramic views. The spacious bay fronted master bedroom is also a room with a view and has an adjoining 5th bedroom which is currently used as a 2nd study. The latter could be utilised as a dressing room. 4 of the 5 bedrooms enjoy views and there is a beautifully modernised bath/shower room with a white suite with a separate integral shower. This wonderful home has to be viewed to really appreciate the amazing accommodation, gardens, views and superb coastal lifestyle opportunity it offers.
What the owner likes ...
We have thoroughly enjoyed living here as this house has been such a happy home. We have never tired of the views. Although we are positioned in the heart of Exmouth it feels as though you are in the countryside due to the extensive garden and we are also close to the beach. The house has so much space and the basement area and huge loft also offer further potential.
Bear in mind ...
The basement to this house has a separate entrance and could be made into a self contained flat (subject to necessary planning and building regulations). It currently offers a beautiful garden room which has been completely refurbished and re-plastered with a double glazed window to the side and double glazed French doors which provide access to the patio area of the immaculately tended rear garden. There is also a large utility room, and a workshop. The rear garden is laid mainly to lawn with a pea gravel patio area interspersed with a paved walkway. The bedding areas are packed with a colourful array of planting. The huge loft is divided into 2 areas and offers further potential to provide extra rooms with stunning views (with the necessary planning consents and building regulations).
