Wraxall Lodge is about a mile from the very popular village of Ditcheat which was mentioned in the Doomsday Book as belonging to Glastonbury Abbey. The village is nowadays best known as the home of Paul Nicolls' Racing Stables (trainer of Kauto Star and Denman).
