WHAT ARE CURRENT VNEDORS HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THE PROPERTY AND LOCATION...

\"We have spent 15 wonderful years at Pond Cottage raising our family through to adulthood and latterly having tenants in the annexe. When moving from Godmanchester we sought somewhere with quick easy access to Huntingdon, London, Cambridge and Peterboroughnut rural and quiet, away from the drone of the A14 and A1. Few villages in the area offer this combination but Wennington fits the bill.   It has quick access to all major roads plus supermarkets, restaurants, senior school, gyms and a cinema just 3 miles away. There is a delightful primary school just one mile from the door in Abbots Ripton.
Our teenagers loved living in Woodpecker cottage (the annexe) enjoying the independence it offers with the proximity of help on hand in the main house if needed. After they left home we used the annexe as offices for some years and in more recent years we have secured some additional income by letting it with no adverse effect on our privacy or quality of life.
Living under thatch is warm in winter, cool in summer and has a real charm with the sense of history it evokes not to mention the fantastic icicles in snowy conditions!   The maintenance of the property has been hassle free.   This has been here since 1640, I wonder how many newly built houses will be able to boast a 400 year history when the time comes!
We added the conservatory to the kitchen some years ago and have spent many happy hours enjoying the natural light and looking out over the garden, watching the pheasants and woodpeckers at the bird feeders or relishing meals with our family and grandchildren. When the light fades the lounge comes into its own with its large inglenook fireplace and multi fuel stove. We have loved the proportions and shape of this room and find it a cosy haven to enjoy on winter nights. At Christmas time it takes on a magic of its own with endless possibilities to dress the beams and light up the room.
The pond opposite the house is another attraction we have enjoyed with ducks and moorhens. Waiting and watching for each new brood in spring has been fun, as has watching the squirrels and red kites who frequently visit. The nearby woods and variety of walking circuits on hand from the front door make Wennington a wildlife lover's paradise.
We have loved our years at Pond and Woodpecker Cottages and shall cherish these memories for ever.\"

The picturesque conservation hamlet of Wennington lies six miles north of the market town of Huntingdon, in Cambridgeshire. The location is perfect for the commuter with access to the east coast rail line just a 12 minute drive, and the A1M and A14 minutes away giving easy access to Peterborough and Cambridge. A well regarded primary school is one mile away and Huntingdon itself provides a variety of shops, churches, senior schools, recreational facilities and other amenities.
