Property description

Backing on to woodland and nestling in an enclave of five elegant detached houses on the outskirts of Eythorne village, this large and impressive property is a truly delightful modern family home. Set well back from the road and built about 15 years ago, it has all the attributes required for 21st-century living but includes some charming features such as a brick surround fireplace in the attractive lounge and leaded light windows throughout, giving it plenty of character.

The well fitted kitchen includes an integrated double oven, hob and fridge/freezer and adjacent utility room. It has an archway through to the breakfast room with its additional units including a wine cooler and direct access to the large decked terrace, so it is easy to organise al fresco meals.

Indeed, the house is also designed for entertaining, with a welcoming hall flowing through to the lounge for parties and the dining room for more formal occasions. There is a surprisingly large games room while the office/study is ideally positioned near the front door so business visitors don’t need to go through the whole house.

Upstairs, off the galleried landing, there is a modern family bathroom and five bedrooms including two en suites with lovely views across the garden to the woods. The large and secluded garden is even large enough for a game of football while the two terraces provide plenty of opportunities for sitting outside and enjoying barbecues during the summer. At the front of the house there are some charming lawn areas, pathways and plenty of hardstanding for off-road parking as well as a double garage.

What the Owner says:

The spaciousness of the house means there is always plenty of room for family and friends when they come to visit. Eythorne is a true Kentish village and with its churches, post office and general store it has everything you need on a day-to-day basis. There is also a hairdresser and a balloon shop as well as a local pub that is only a short walk from the house. The village is a very friendly community and there are plenty of activities taking place in the village hall, including a free pre-school playgroup. Something different is the East Kent Heritage Railway that operates vintage trains on the old colliery railway between Shepherdswell and Eythorne, if you want to plan an interesting outing.

The village sits in a lovely part of the Kent countryside and you can enjoy wonderful walks around the fields and in the nearby Waldershare Park. There are local primary schools and buses that go to the surrounding towns as well as buses taking children to secondary schools in Dover, Deal, Sandwich and Canterbury.
