Property description
Fine individual 1920’s detached house set in large mature gardens and grounds to about 1.4 acres (including potential building land), panoramic Devon views, huge family accommodation to about 3850sq ft including showpiece Georgian style conservatory with raised lantern roof, substantial range of buildings – possibly one of Crediton’s finest residences!
Mount Jocelyn is a fine individual 1920’s detached house, beautifully located on the extreme outskirts of the town in an elevated location, with stunning views over the town and rolling Devon countryside beyond. The town centre is within walking distance,
The house was extensively remodelled and extended about 10 years ago, and now offers extremely spacious family accommodation to about 3850sq ft including a huge showpiece Georgian style conservatory with a raised lantern roof. The fully fitted kitchen is bespoke and hand built from solid timber, with polished granite worktops, an Aga, and an attractively shaped central island unit. In all there are 5 bedrooms all of which face south and take full advantage of the views. The large reception hallway is approached through a conservatory entrance which provides the formal entrance to the house. In addition there are 3 fine reception rooms, a study, utility, 2 shower rooms, a family bathroom, and a cloakroom. It benefits from uPVC double glazing throughout, and mains gas central heating (underfloor to the ground floor and conventional radiators to the first floor).
The house is set in large mature landscaped grounds in all extending to about 1.4 acre. The gardens are superbly maintained, with sweeping expanses of lawn, numerous patios, substantial areas of colourful planting, and several mature trees including an orchard. To the north side of the house is a huge tarmac parking area which could easily accommodate at least 15 cars. There are numerous buildings, including a substantial corner triple bay garage/store with high roller shutter doors – ideal for anyone with a classic car collection.
The gardens would very naturally divide and in the opinion of the agents there is excellent potential to create building sites for large detached houses.
