Property description

This beautiful Victorian home has been expertly restored and refurbished in an amazing fashion. The house really does now stand even above and beyond its former glory. From top to bottom, not a single stone has been left unturned in the aim to produce a home suitable for all the family.

The stripped wood floors, picture rails and original period fireplaces make the lounge the perfect spot for some quiet time with a book. The dining room is wonderfully bright and the best spot to show off your home to your friends over dinner. For less formal times you have a breakfast area in the modern yet sympathetic extended kitchen/breakfast area with granite work tops and integral appliances making life easier.

The main bedroom in particular is sure to ‘wow’. The huge bay window fills the room with light and is a coupled with the fantastically high ceilings – a feature throughout this home in fact. The addition of the en-suite shower room is finished to the highest possible standard. The attention to detail here shows how good a job has been done, down to the choice of windows and doors – with imitation sash units meaning you have that classic look, with modern and practical efficiency.

Commuters will love the location – a short stroll to the railway station and superb access via road to the M2. You are also well placed for popular Ethelbert Road Primary School and The Abbey School.

What the Owner says:

We chose to buy this house because we could see the potential, despite the work that obviously needed doing. We really did strip everything right back and what was a shell of this old house now has brand new electrics and central heating. We have managed to create what we feel is a lovely space – particularly in the kitchen/breakfast area.

It has been a joy to repair and replace things like the fireplaces and original floor boards. We have also put back in picture rails and been very careful with our choices – we really wanted people to feel that we had ‘restored’ the house, not just refurbished it. Attention to detail was so important – even down to our choice of internal doors and ceramic door handles.
