The Old Dairy is a beautiful barn conversion, situated in an idyllic location in a small rural development comprising of 4 other barn conversions and a brick farmhouse. The barn forms part of a most attractive U-shaped farmstead, around a central paved and landscaped courtyard all surrounded by glorious Devon farmland. The A3072 main road is within a short drive where easy access can be obtained to Crediton, Tiverton, and Exeter with the M5 motorway accessible either at Exeter or junction 27, near Tiverton.
Internally The Old Dairy offers first class 4 bedroomed accommodation having been converted to a high standard with much use of solid oak and pine throughout. The rooms are large, light and well-proportioned with many of the walls having exposed natural stone and a wealth of exposed timbers and A-frames. There are large windows to the front of the barn, including two Velux roof windows, and some of the overhanging roof timbers have glazed panels adding to the styling of the barn and allowing copious amounts of light into the accommodation. It also benefits from oil central heating throughout, and sealed unit double glazing.
The gardens are beautifully landscaped, having been professionally planned by a designer whose work can also be seen at RHS Rosemoor. The extensive planting is specifically designed to be attractive to wildlife and provide all-year round interest. There is an attractive stone loggia, raised lawned areas, trees, fruit & vegetable areas, plus a rear courtyard.
There is attractive landscaping to the front with lawn, planting, and paved pathways.
The nearby village of Shobrooke is a very pleasant and popular village which lies approximately 2 miles East of Crediton and some 7 miles from the City of Exeter. It is surrounded by picturesque Mid-Devon countryside which offers delightful walks and also benefits from a charming old inn.
Crediton is an old Mid Devon market town with a wealth of history, being situated just 7.5 miles north-west of the Cathedral City of Exeter with the M5 motorway some 3 miles further on. The town is surrounded by unspoilt farmland in an area of great natural beauty. There is a regular daily bus service to Exeter plus trains every hour to Exeter and Barnstaple and a local town bus which covers most urban areas. The town is most famous for its ancient parish church and for being the birthplace of St Boniface in 680 AD. It has excellent schooling facilities at both senior and junior levels and a sports and leisure centre incorporating a superb swimming pool. The town has an excellent selection of shops with a Morrisons and a large Tesco superstore/petrol filling station.
