Property description

A fine attached substantial residence in a most enviable location. The property offers 4 bedrooms (2 ensuites), double garage, generous grounds and many period features.

Location:
Seaton is located between the ancient harbour of Axmouth and the white cliffs of Beer. Its mile long beach, which is part of the Jurassic Coast, opens onto the waters of Lyme Bay. The town itself has many small shops, a local hospital, doctors surgeries, primary school, banks and building societies. Seaton is a popular resort for holiday makers, and boasts a wealth of activities including golf, tennis, bowls and sailing. There are good secondary schools nearby along with the renowned Colyton Grammar School, which is just 3 miles inland. The County town of Exeter, with its regional airport, is some twenty miles to the west, and the mainline rail link to London (Waterloo) is at Axminster, approximately seven miles distant.

Directions:
From Seaton Down Road, take the turning into Ryalls Court. You will see a traffic island in front of you and a sign with No 5 on. This is the driveway for No's 5 and 7. Follow it down and bear right into the private driveway for no. 7.

The Property:
Originally built in 1834 by Commander William Henry Baptist Proby who was married to the daughter of the vicar of Southleigh (hence the stained glass windows) During the first world war, Ryalls Court was used as a Military Hospital before it became a residential school for girls. The building ran into disrepair until it was purchased by Prowting Homes in 1997 and has now been transformed into a property which has a grand country house feel and is set in generous mature gardens on the Jurassic Coast.
