The railway station is 1.8 miles away, with a 90 minute journey to London Paddington. Road links to all parts of the country are outstanding. We came to live here four years ago and just fell in love with the location and the house with its unique character. The house was in need of lots of TLC and we have renovated and enhanced almost every aspect providing us with a welcoming, family home. It is charming, stylish and luxurious whilst, at the same time, retaining its historic Victorian splendour.The kitchen/dining area was very important to us and the space available has been enlarged and renovated to create an open, sociable, family room. We love to cook and entertain and this space allows us to enjoy the company of our friends while meals are prepared and everyone is chatting before we eat. This room opens out onto patio garden which offers privacy but plenty of sunlight in the summer.The main reception room has its Victorian fireplace intact and is a beautiful elegant room. Its original glazed doors open into the dining space and on those occasions when we have large gatherings, it provides a wonderful sociable flow.The whole area is outstanding and, being so close to the canal, we often cycle into the centre of Bath. This is such a friendly local community and, at Christmas, the neighbours gather together for carols and refreshments.We are extremely sad to say farewell to what has been a magnificent family home for us. We have been so happy and fulfilled and will take away just happy memories of our life here.
