Property description

Set in the heart of a popular village is a large character Grade II Listed cottage with plenty of space to fill, and plenty to get your teeth in to too.

Enter in to the large entrance hall where the tone is set. A fantastic 25ft kitchen/breakfast area is part of a later addition to the property and spans most of the rear. Plenty of natural light is allowed in through the windows and patio doors. With so much space here there's room for a huge dining table alongside all the kitchen units. A sofa and chairs do not seem out of place here too. This has been, and no doubt will continue to be, a great entertaining and family area. A separate laundry area allows all the white goods to sit snugly without encroaching on said entertaining.

A lounge enjoys an open fire place and this is more than enough to warm chilled bones post a countryside stroll. A study or playroom, alongside a further reception room completes the ground floor.

A large landing could double up as a study or office if needs be. The master bedroom has a feature vaulted ceiling which really opens up the room. Two further bedrooms are both easily doubles and the family bathroom is here too. The loft room can serve as a fifth bedroom, teenage snug or study.

With two main areas of garden to enjoy plus a large pond no one will be bored here. The village recreation ground and local primary school are in the same street. There is also a local pub and local shop within walking distance.

What the Owner says:

We had rented in the village, having moved out of London to the countryside. We had a great opportunity to buy here and jumped at the chance. We modified the existing 17th Century cottages and created a single large family house by adding a rear extension. This has provided us with a great family area and as the family has become extended we can all still fit in here. In the summer months it's great to have the doors open out to the patio and garden.
I'll miss the village life, but would hope the next owners enjoy it as much as we have.
