Property description

Location is all important when choosing a new home and this property in the Droveway, St Margarets Bay has it all. It is where the countryside meets a vibrant coastal village as well as the beach in the picturesque bay. This unique and attractive family home backs on to stunning countryside along a quiet road and ends at a farm owned by the National Trust, so none of it is likely to be built on.

If you want to feel on holiday all year round, this could be the place. From the moment you see the amazing windows providing plenty of light and walk into the stunning vaulted ceiling hall you know this is something special. Everywhere flows beautifully and the ambience is calm and peaceful - even the built in shelving in the unusual split level galleried sitting room and library have flowing curved edges. The well equipped kitchen with its vast range cooker also has curved units and has been designed so the cook can chat to friends and family at the dining table or see visitors walking into the house. The Jamaican style mosaics in the downstairs shower room also add to the fun.

Outside you will find everything you could want to enjoy yourselves. From the hot tub, the barbecue and the outdoor fire to keep off the evening chill, to the attractive summer houses, unusual shrubs and trees, storage sheds and the children’s play fort, there is truly something for everyone.

Two of the four good sized double bedrooms have a large balcony where you can enjoy the stunning view and there will never be a queue for the bathroom as two bedrooms have en-suite facilities as well as a fascinating family bathroom.

What the Owner says:

“We fell in love with the house and the surrounding area as soon as we saw it and felt it was a wonderful place to bring up our son. It has been a fantastic family home but he will soon be flying the nest and we need something a bit different for our future business activities.
During the time we have lived here we have tried to create a tranquil but fun home suited to a relaxed lifestyle. We have converted the garage into a grooming parlour but this would also make an ideal play room or a space for other business or hobby activities, while the office at the front of the house is ideal if you want to work away from the main living area.
We couldn’t live in a more community spirited village. We have a number of restaurants, a hotel and four pubs as well as a post office, village shop and the Wallets Court Spa and Hotel where locals and visitors can make use of the gym, sauna and swimming pool. There are a wide range of societies and clubs including the St Margaret’s players for those with a theatrical bent and plenty of wonderful walks along footpaths and trails to Kingsdown and the beach at St Margaret’s Bay.”
