Property description

THE PROPERTY Biddleside Farm is approached via a private driveway leading to an extensive parking area. From the parking area a gated entrance leads into the gardens, with a pathway leading to the house.

On entering there is a large welcoming entrance hall with stairs leading to the first floor landing. The formal sitting room with log burner, farmhouse kitchen/breakfast room and family room all enjoy views to the rear, over surrounding countryside. The remaining reception areas being a formal dining room and study either enjoy aspects over the mature gardens or duck pond. Completing the ground floor is the separate utility room, pantry and cloakroom.

The first floor comprises of four generous bedrooms and a recently modernized family bathroom, with all of the rooms enjoying views over the gardens or surrounding countryside. Of particular note is the master bedroom suite, which benefits from a separate dressing room, and en suite shower room with pretty views.

The house sits in approximately 2/3 acre of mature gardens, which is bordered on two sides by mature trees and shrubbery. The front gardens are extremely secluded, being mainly laid to lawn. The picturesque duck pond with its central island is located in this area, and is currently home to a family of well behaved Call ducks. Within the garden there are several hard standings for timber workshops and sheds. The lawns wrap around the house leading to an enclosed garden to the rear. This more formal area can be accessed from either the sitting room or family room. This area consists of a variety of well kept herbaceous borders, decorative beds and a raised seating/ barbeque area, all of which looks out across open countryside.

THE LOCATION The village of Slindon is predominantly owned by the National Trust, which has preserved much of its character and charm. Lying between Chichester and Arundel within the newly created South Downs National Park, it is in close proximity to forestry commissioned woodland and many attractive country walks and bridle paths. There is a parish church and a village shop, which is collectively run by the village residents. The nearby villages of Barnham, Eastergate and Fontwell provide a good selection of local shops whilst Chichester and Arundel, and the provincial centres of Worthing and Brighton, are within an easy travelling distance by car providing comprehensive shopping facilities. There is also a good choice of rail links to London and Gatwick airport from either Barnham, Arundel or Amberley.

Numerous sporting and recreational activities in the area include horse racing at Goodwood and Fontwell, Polo at Cowdray Park, several golf courses, a private country club at Goodwood with modern gym and indoor swimming pool and sailing at Littlehampton and Chichester harbours. The surrounding contryside provides many opportunities for walking, riding or mountain biking.
