Vendors Comments
We moved into our house, 16 years ago, when our children were young and it has been a wonderful home with plenty of space for them to grow up in and still ample room for people to stay. Our friends often comment that our house is like a tardis as they find it so much larger than how it looks from the front! We increased this living area by adding a conservatory at the back where we love to sit, eat, entertain friends or simply enjoy the garden and view beyond. It gets morning sun, so warms up beautifully, but is never too hot during the day. As doors lead from the conservatory to both the sitting room and kitchen, it brings the outside in but is not over looked by anyone. The area at the front of the house is a real suntrap so we re-landscaped this to enable us to enjoy the sunny days in Spring and Autumn. It is set back off the road and tucked away behind an attractive low wall so is also very private. We have loved this area. We are well-served with shops in Coleford (just a 5 minute drive) and Monmouth (15 minute drive). We have appreciated the many lanes and footpaths, accessible from our door, to explore beautiful parts of this countryside. We particularly enjoy a short walk from our house up Margery Lane and across a field which opens out to extensive views to Sugar Loaf mountain and the Welsh hills. As keen cyclists, we can also access the many forest cycle paths from a mile or so away. For a small village we are well served with three welcoming public houses and a 13th century hotel/restaurant. Our children both worked and earned regular money as teenagers in these local establishments which kept both occupied and happy! It seems a testament to their life in Clearwell that they both choose to return regularly to the area now having grown up and left home.
