Property description
A charming detached cottage situated in a lovely rural hamlet some 4 miles west of Crediton. The property offers space throughout and has wonderful large gardens as well as ample storage sheds and extensive off street parking.
Carpenters Cottage is situated in an idyllic rural hamlet some 4 miles to the west of Crediton. It comprises an attractive four bedroom period home with the most wonderful gardens of approximately ¾ acre, plus a further acre of wildlife area/wilderness garden. In addition, there is an exceptional range of outbuildings which includes a large pole barn, modern workshop building, potting sheds and a greenhouse. There is ample off road parking and turning space.
The cottage has been renovated and extended by the current owner to create spacious living accommodation with oil fired central heating throughout. The carpentry workshop has been converted into a large sitting room and there is a family room or large office adjoining it. A dining room, kitchen/breakfast room (with former inglenook and bread oven) with a walk-in pantry and a downstairs WC completes the ground floor accommodation. Upstairs there are four bedrooms (including a master en suite) and a family bathroom.
The gardens are a total delight and consist of numerous beguiling pathways twisting in and out of well stocked borders, shaped lawns with fruit trees, two ponds, and the occasional glimpse of the lovely surrounding countryside.
DIRECTIONS
From Crediton take the A377 towards Copplestone. After approximately 1 ½ miles, turn left as sign posted to Knowle. Follow this road into the hamlet of Knowle passing the church on your left, and turning the sharp left hand bend into Goblin Hill. Carpenters Cottage will be seen a short way up the hill on your left, and we would recommend parking by the double timber gates into the driveway a short distance up the hill.
