Property description

This double fronted Victorian family home offers excellent living space and period features alongside modern fixtures and fittings. Careful consideration has been paid to retain the original character and charm so features like open fireplaces, sash windows and ceiling roses will delight. The spacious hallway is impressive and the wonderful high ceilings create a real feeling of space. The living room displays a fabulous feature fireplace and big double aspect sash windows and is the perfect place to relax in. Moving to the recently refitted oak kitchen/diner , this huge open plan area will delight with masses of storage space, downstairs cloakroom and some integrated appliances. Walking through to a large study/snug and yet more space for living and/or working, or even as a family room. Finally a cellar (for storing wine perhaps?) completes the picture downstairs. On the first floor, four large bedrooms are complemented by a feature family bathroom complete with claw foot bath and separate shower, not to mention countryside views! A large loft space provides yet more storage possibilities or the potential to create another bedroom with en-suite. Outside a driveway has parking for several cars, plus a single garage with workshop to the rear, a useful addition. Just a short walk away is Buxted mainline station and the village itself with its convenience store, family pub and doctors surgery. Overall, a wonderful character property with masses of appeal – viewing essential!!

What the Owner says:

We have lived here for nearly 10 years and really enjoyed our time in Buxted.

Over time we have made some reimbursements to bring back its former glory. We also opened up 2 of the reception rooms on the ground floor to make our kitchen/diner, its now a place where we spend a lot of our time , whether its just the family or entertaining our friends.. We have also modernised both of the bathrooms and replaced most of the double glazing while keeping the character of the house.
Another real plus for us is having the train station on our door step, its a real bonus being able to jump on the train when needed and also being close to the countryside walks .
