We bought the property some 24 years ago. Over the years we have devoted much of our time to completely renovating and extending the place both inside and out, to provide the lovely and unusual home you see today. However we feel it is time for us to downsize and hope that another family will be able to take advantage of everything it has to offer. It is amazing how spacious the bungalow is now. We have also installed 14 solar panels which have been fantastic in helping keep the energy bills low.
Blean is a delightful village with the famous and historic Blean Woods providing some wonderful nature trails and bridle paths, while the Crab and Winkle route offers enjoyable cycling. The village is half way between popular Whitstable and Canterbury with its historic buildings, high street stores, universities and colleges and excellent pubs and restaurants, so you can be in the city or the coast in a matter of minutes. Indeed, we are less than five minutes’ drive from the Thanet Way in one direction and Canterbury West station on the other which is very useful for anyone needing to commute to work.
There is an excellent primary school within very easy walking distance and a bus stop just outside the door. In addition there are two good pubs, while the village hall provides plenty of activities from coffee mornings, table tennis and line dancing to art, yoga and pre-school facilities. You will also find a post office and the Londis convenience store.
