Property description

VENDOR COMMENT My late wife and I purchased Cruck House for a variety of reasons. The principle reason was my wife's love of the garden, which is a surprise and not at all expected when the property is viewed from the road.

The property was undergoing restoration and represented a challenge in addition to meeting our criteria of a property with character and of historic interest, which matched our fascination with local history. Through extensive research we discovered that the property was owned in the late 18th century by George Follows, his wife Ruth being the renowned Quaker who preached throughout the United Kingdom extensively between 1758 and 1788, travelling great distances from her family home in Castle Donington.

Living in Cruck House also allowed us to visit our family spread throughout the UK within a day due to Castle Doningtons proximity to the motorway network.
