Property description

Named after trees at the entrance to the property, this property is a charming, rural chalet bungalow nestling in 0.56 acres of beautiful garden. Surrounded by farmland and situated at the end of a lane that becomes a bridlepath, it is very peaceful and quiet and the approach extremely safe for children – with the only ‘passing traffic’ being dog walkers and horse riders.

Built in 1959 by a local landowner, this property incorporates some attractive original features. These include the lovely oak front door opening to a pine staircase in the entrance hall, a side entrance with a stable door leading in to the well fitted kitchen/breakfast room and some intriguing stained glass windows as well as a beamed ceiling, picture rail and brick fireplace in the elegant lounge. This room opens up into a light and bright conservatory allowing you to enjoy the wonderful view across the gardens and providing a large overall space for entertaining. While both the lounge and the formal dining room have leaded light bay windows.

This property offers very flexible accommodation because there are two double bedrooms and a bathroom on the ground floor and two further double bedrooms and a shower room upstairs. So if you have elderly relatives to stay the downstairs rooms could be ideal, while teenage children might like the upstairs rooms as their private domain. Alternatively, one of the downstairs rooms would make an excellent office or cosy ‘den’.

The gardens and grounds are a star-studded feature of this property. It is a haven for wildlife and is just full of mature well-established shrubs and trees as well plenty of nooks and crannies where the children can play hide-and-seek or kick a ball around in complete safety. While the double open-cart-barn-style garage and large driveway provides plenty of space for numerous vehicles.

What the Owner says:

“The garden has been a real delight and we love spending time having family barbecues on the patio. We have all the advantages of living in the country but, at the same time, we are only five minutes’ drive from Westwood Cross shopping centre and local secondary schools. We can walk to the Jolly Farmer pub and have installed remote control lighting along the lane so we never come home in the dark. There is also lighting around the outside of the house into the garden and over the garage to provide even more security.
We were thinking of extending the house to suit our future needs but have decided to move instead. However, we have obtained planning permission to considerably extend the property to include a new kitchen and that is still current if a new owner is looking to create more space. Manston is a very friendly village with lots of activities in the village hall as well as an outdoor playground and playing fields and we are within walking distance of the Manston Golf Centre with its driving range and adventure golf. Indeed, for golfing enthusiasts there are at least two golf courses within about five minutes’ drive as well as the seafront at Pegwell Bay.”
