Property description
This beautiful Grade II listed home is full of all the character you would hope for when looking for a period property. A real ‘one off’, this is a truly unique property which is bound to catch your interest and it draws you in as you step through the ornate panelled door.
Built in the early 19th century, fans of this style of property will appreciate the paned glass sash windows and wooden beamed ceilings. The good sized lounge is perfect for a winter’s evening – with the roaring fire being a definite focus of the house. The sitting room makes a more informal area to catch up on a good book or could make a superb guest bedroom too.
Downstairs, the dining area is the ideal place to gather with friends over a coffee or will suit sitting down with all the family equally well. The luxurious bathroom, with roll top bath, will be perfect to relax in with a glass of something after a hard day before retreating to the quirky bedroom at attic level. The room is built around the exposed brick chimney and is a real talking point!
The gardens offer low maintenance but attractive seating areas and mature shrubs, leaving you with a feeling of a country cottage style. You have a generous patio ready for a barbeque next summer and a spot to the rear that will make a lovely vegetable patch too.
What the Owner says:
This has been a great home for myself and my mother. The house has such charm and I love how individual it is. There really is not another place quite like it! I love the different levels and a winter in the lounge with the fire roaring is great. Then in the summer it is nice to sit in the dining area with the doors opened out onto the patio.
The location is great too; out of the town centre but also close enough to get in when we want and Ospringe offers its own little atmosphere too. It is of course also great for the road links and for getting up to London.
