Upper Heyford is a village to the north of Oxford, just a few miles outside both Bicester and Kidlington. The original village of Haiford dates back to at least Norman times. It was described in the Domesday book as a manor of ten hides of land that later came to form part of the ‘Honour of Wallingford’, and there has been a church in the village since at least 1074. The village became the site for military bases, in particular air bases, from 1916, and it is on the site of these now defunct bases that most of the modern Upper Heyford has been developed and constructed, including this property in 2014. There are a number of local facilities including a new free school, access to the well-equipped gym outside school hours, and in the older part of the village there is a village green, sports field, allotments and village hall.
