Property description
A picturesque thatched three bedroom cottage enjoying a southerly aspect and situated in the centre of this pretty East Devon village.
Appletree Cottage occupies a delightful position in this well known, picture postcard street and is situated in the centre of Sidbury. The cottage is Grade II Listed and offers considerable character and charm and during 2005 was the subject of considerable refurbishment. Externally there are rendered elevations under a mainly thatched roof and internally there are feature fireplaces to the ground floor. The sitting room enjoys a dual aspect and gives access into the rear garden and this room, along with the dining hall, having a feature recessed fireplace with a fitted gas wood burning stove. The kitchen is attractively fitted and has a freestanding oven, washing machine, fridge/freezer and slimline dishwasher. Adjoining this is a useful ground floor cloakroom. To the first floor there is a spacious landing, three good size bedrooms and a spacious bathroom which is fitted with a white suite.
The gardens are situated to the rear of the cottage, offer a good deal of privacy and have two garden stores, as well as a timber garden shed.
Sidbury is a most attractive village and has the benefit of a Butchers/General Store, Village Inn, historic Church, Social Club and a popular village Primary School. Regular bus services leave the centre of village to the surrounding area and there are some delightful walks over the surrounding countryside.
Sidmouth town centre, which offers an excellent range of amenities including the Cottage Hospital, Health Centre, Library, Indoor Swimming Pool, Cinema, Theatre and of course, the popular Regency Esplanade, is approximately four miles away. The market town of Honiton, with its mainline Railway Station to London Waterloo is approximately seven miles distant.
