My brother and I were raised in this house after dad bought it in 1963. As children we spent many happy years playing in the garden. As we grew up we rode bikes around the neighbourhood and played in Epping Forest and Ray Lodge Park. We went to local schools within walking distance and lead an idyllic childhood. Dad lived in Hillside Avenue over 50 years making many friends among the neighbours swapping home grown fruit and vegetables. He also enjoyed visiting local restaurants which have flourished in the area over the recently years. He also took full advantage of the local tube line to visit the West End as a pensioner. We have many fond memories of Hillside Avenue and growing up in Woodford.
