About the Area
West Charlton is one of the sought after villages in the area known as 'The Charltons\" and lies within the heart of Somerset, yet is with easy reach of the A303 road a few miles south and the main line rail station at Castle Cary. Nearby Somerton provides a wide range of services and amenities and close by are other small towns including Street, Glastonbury, Wells, Castle Cary, Yeovil and Sherborne. Bristol, Bath and Taunton are also within easy reach.
Schools
There are excellent state and independent schools which include a well regarded Primary school about half a mile away in Charlton Mackrel and another in Somerton (just under 2 miles), secondary schools in Street and Huish Episcopi and an excellent 6th form college - Strode College again in Street. Independent schools include, Millfield (at Street & Glastonbury), Wells Cathedral, Downside, All Hallows and the schools at Bruton and Sherborne. There are lots of good restaurants and pubs in the area and most sporting, cultural and social requirements can be met.

Directions
From Castle Cary, proceed towards Somerton on B3135. At the Lydford crossroads, proceed straight ahead. Go through the village of Keinton Mandeville. At the Kingweston staggered crossroads, take the left turning to Lytes Cary. Pass through the village of Charlton Mackrell carry on under the railway bridge and take the next right turning, continue past the village school on your left hand side and the property will be found after a short distance on the left hand side.
