Mechancial Ventilation with Heat Recovery:

MVHR is a multi-room ducted system that combines supply and extract ventilation in one solution.  It continuously provides fresh air to habitable rooms whilst pre-warming it with recovered heat from the extract air which would otherwise have been vented outside and therefore lost.

Warm moist air is extracted from wet rooms such as bathrooms and kitchens through ductwork to a central unit.  Supply ventilation air from outside the home is passed through a heat exchanger in the central until and warmed by the heat in the extract air.  MVHR systems are able to recover around 90% of the heat that would otherwise be lost (measured in accordance with the 2005 SAP Appendix Q test).

The warmed air is then distributed throughout the home by ductwork.  Air valves at ceiling level ensure that draughts are avoided.

The system runs most of the time at a low background rate but when more rapid ventilation is required because of increased moisture generation (caused for example by cooking or bathroom use) the system is switched to a boost rate manually.

Benefits of a New Home

  1. Be the first

There's nothing quite like moving into a pristine, new home, clean and untouched by previous hands.  As the very first owner, a new home gives you a completely fresh start so you can create your own style.

  2. It's all included

A brand new home comes with an all-inclusive specification, which means you get a contemporary new kitchen, integrated appliances and many other extras, all included in the price.  Laminate floor to ground floor, upper floors and stairs carpeted and vinyl flooring to the cloakroom, shower room and bathroom.

  3. Peace of mind

Every home comes with a 10 year 'Buildmark' warranty provided by the National House Building Council (NHBC), which covers any major defects to the structure of the property, or in its construction.

  4. Energy saving

Thanks to modern standards of insulation and technology, this home is extremely energy efficient.  This means an EPC estimate of around £45.00 per month for the energy costs - so it's helping reduce your carbon footprint.

A 'chain free' property

Buying a new home from Kender New Homes, which is ready to move straight into, can prove a much simpler process than buying a second-hand property.
